Ginger Bread Houses

When Shane was gone hunting, my family had pie night. Each one of our families will make a pie, then we vote on who made the best pie. Layne sure tried hard, but his didn't work out. He brought it all still running. After we each pies, we make ginger bread houses. Brylee helped for about 10 min and then I did the rest. It was still fun, even with out our dad!!!

Montana Deer Hunt

Shane went to Montana with his cousin on a deer hunt over Thanksgiving. He said it was freezing cold up there, but had a good time. This is the big buck he came home with.
GOOD JOB BABE!!!

Labor Day Weekend

I thought Labor Day weekend was going to be just another weekend. Shane was up to Wyoming to scout for his deer hunt. Brylee was going with grandma and grandpa cause it was mom's weekend to work. Thas is exactly what happened Friday and Saturday. Sunday rolled around and Shane came home. We decided to go spend the night camping with Family up on Skyline Drive. Spend some time with Brylee before mom had to go back to work Monday night.
THAT IS A DECISION SHANE AND I WILL NEVER FORGET!!!
After church, we drove up to skyline. We had been there for about an hour when my mom came running to the trailing yelling Gary! Shane!! some has rolled a razor and is hurt. We found out a young man was a little more than hurt. The razor had landed on his chest and when we finally got him out from underneath, the man wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse. Gary did mouth to mouth and I did chest compression. Shane was calling to get life light. We did CPR for an hour before life light finally came. I felt helpless, I couldn't help this man cause I didn't have any medical equipment like I do in the hospital. Life light did finally get a soft pulse and 84% O2 saturation. Then next day we found out from the family that the man has his eyes open, breathing on his own, but there was no brain activity. To this day I can still see this man's face and bruised chest.
I thought I would never have to do CPR outside of the hospital. It was an experience I will never forget.
It made me realize how fragile life can be, and never take for family for granite. I love my family so much!!!!

Goodbye Summer and no Blogs from the Southwick's

I know I have slacked on the blogging this summer, we really haven't been that busy. Lets just say work sucks. Working all night and sleeping all day isn't so much fun.
Lets see what is new with the Southwick's
Shane is starting a new job, in a couple of weeks at Mountain States Steel
Brylee's hair is starting to kinda grow back after having to chop it from it falling out related to the fevers she had.
Brylee's gets to have a new baby bother or sister around the 1st of March.

That pretty much sums up are summer!!! Of course going to Yellowstone with the family. Gotta love it!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brylee!!!

Brylee's Birthday was May 5th. Wow! I can't believe she is 2. We had the family over for cake and ice cream. She loved it. Shane practiced blowing out candles and singing happy birthday prior to the party, but when it was time to really sing happy birthday Brylee didn't know what to think. She was a little worried about the whole thing. She had fun opening presents and playing with her cousins.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

The magic of Christmas was brought back this year. Brylee has so much fun. She understood the whole christmas thing. She knew who santa was and believe it or not, was not afraid of him. Christmas morning came and she ran into the living room to find all her toys. She played with her kitchen and stroller, didn't care about anything else. Shane and I had to open the rest of the presents. It was a fun day.

On New Years Day my family took the kids to the pasture to ride sleds behind four-wheelers. I know it was a little on the redneck side, but the kids had fun. We made a fire, and roasted hotdogs. Shane tried making a jump, which we all thought was so cool, until that night when we saw the video of it. Wow!! Our kids are going to laugh at us when they watch the video 10 years from now.
